Skarply uses minimal browser storage. This page explains what we use and why.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. We also use localStorage, which is similar but stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
theme |
localStorage | Remembers your dark/light mode preference | Until you clear browser data |
lang |
localStorage | Remembers your language preference (en/de/da) | Until you clear browser data |
That's it. We do not use any analytics cookies, tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or session cookies.
Cloudflare: Our website is served through Cloudflare, which may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot protection. This is a strictly necessary security cookie and does not track you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Affiliate links: When you click on an alternative suggestion that links to a third-party retailer (e.g., Refurbed, Amazon), that retailer's site may set their own cookies. These cookies are governed by the retailer's cookie policy, not ours. We have no control over them.
Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary cookies and client-side storage used purely for user preferences (like dark mode) do not require consent. Since we don't use any tracking or analytics cookies, we don't show a cookie consent banner.
You can clear localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. This will reset your theme and language preferences to their defaults.
If we ever add analytics or other cookies that require consent, we will update this policy and add a consent mechanism before using them.
